National Holidays

On national holidays - called Bank Holidays in the UK -it is best to check whether the place you hope to visit is open. On Christmas and Easter national holidays in particular, "many" places and services close. In Scotland, New Year also sees "many" places close.

When Bank Holidays fall on a weekend, the following Monday is the official holiday (but attractions and services will also be closed at the weekend).
